Using light differently

We all know how to light a model right?
Just place the light and…. well the model is lit.
But sometimes it’s also really cool to use light a totally different way.
One of the most powerful tricks is of course feathering the light where we don’t aim the light directly at the model but actually use the sides of the light to light the model, this gives you a much softer quality of light but also a nicer and faster light fall off to the sides.

But what if you use light a TOTALLY different way?
During the workshop lighting techniques I always love to trigger the attendees with for example led lighting (But it works for every light).
In this case I used a LedGo ring light and when I started shooting through the ringlight a lot of attendees didn’t like the results…. in all honesty personally I love it but it’s a very personal taste (the ringlight), so I started using the ringlight differently, and that…. triggered the whole group to start experimenting themselves 😀

Here are some of the results.
So the next time play with your lights (not your food).
Would love to see some of your results…..
