Carry your camera

When I visit people the chance is very high that I will also bring my “little friend” in my case a photo camera (5DMKII in most cases).
Actually almost where ever I go I will bring my camera, now some people asked me a while ago “what do you shoot all that time” and to be honest I had to admit that in most cases I will return home without images, or with maybe 2-3 images, however sometimes I will always feel “naked” without my camera, and let’s be honest when you don’t have it with you, you will probably see the most wonderful scene that you would have loved to capture.

 Yesterday I had to visit some customers in the Rotterdam area and I decided to show you guys four images I shot during the drive. I have to add that these images are JUST FOR FUN to show you some of the shots I take when on the road. Two of these images I will probably some time in the future use for a composite (also shot some great structures). But overall the images are just for fun and shot on parking places or in and around the buildings where my customers are located. So here we go.

I loved this church and this is one of the shots I really stopped for, for me it looks like a “blow up” building and somehow it just attracted me, the problem was that I could not park so I had to stop on a road and it was busy so I was not able to shoot longer than a few seconds, would have loved to stay a bit longer here.

As you can see in the images it’s nothing earth shattering, however two of the images (hallway and the last one) will probably be used in the compositing part of my work some day, and as mentioned before I’ve been also shooting some great structures that can be used in compositing, however the reason I post them is to (hopefully) inspire you to always bring your camera with you, because even when you’re going to locations where you would never expect something interesting you will probably miss some great opportunities to add some images to your hard drive, and let’s be honest, shooting is fun and finding a good image is always a challenge and carrying your camera will help you a lot when you’re visiting locations that are “really” interesting. When you can shoot some images that are interesting in not so good locations imaging what you can do when it’s really cool.
