Some images from Nadine

Last Friday Nadine was our model for the workshop Studio Technique II, and when Nadine is the model you can always expect something special, and this time was no exception. In this blog post my favorite images from the session and a small backstage video I shot with the iPhone 4S. The main “focus” of the video is to see how well the 4S performs in very low light situations like the modeling lights from the strobes, something the iPhone 4 really did not produce very good images, and I think the 4S did very well, but you can judge yourself tomorrow on the blog.

I also played around with the new OnOne perfect suite, it has a great skin module called “Perfect Portrait”, it’s still a bit rough around the edges but the results you can get after some work is VERY impressive and launched “Perfect Portrait” to be my favorite solution when I have some skin that needs more work. But there is much more in the Perfect Suite.

Everybody seems to love vintage looks so I played a bit with the settings in “Perfect Effects”, this part of the suite is really nice and contains a lot of set presets to choose from, but also the option to stack them. One would think that it competes with NIK 4, but that’s not true the effects from both suites really supplement each other and are totally different, but both have grown enormously since the last release with cool options like “stackable effects” and blending modes…. a few more years and we have a real alternative to Photoshop 🙂 The next shots will be way overdone for some, but remember it’s just some experimenting with different looks.

And some final more standard images.

Excellent facial expression on the first one. And the light on the face intensifies his dramatic look. As you said a model that can always expect something special like those “standard images”! Nice light modelling Frank.

    Hey Frank,

Wat is dat spinneragspul wat Nadine bij de eerste foto’s over zich heen heeft. Super gaaf effect! De tweede foto waarbij het wit in de ogen nog net iets licht krijgen is echt te gek!
